Also known a standby generators, these Generac whole house generators come fully equipt. Running on either natural gas or liquid propane, you can switch between the two fuel sources easily. This provides convenience and flexibility. Not only that, but in areas of low natural gas pressure they can operate on only 3.5 feet of water column pressure. These standby generators come enclosed in a galvanneal steel enclosure ensuring that they are protected form the any weather event. They can withstand winds of up to 150 mph.

Each model comes with a transfer switch included. This is important because they do not always come included with all standby generators, and its the component which allows your house to switch to standby power automatically in the event of a power outage. It also means no extension cables. An important feature of any generator is the quality of the power produced, and these Generac standby generators produce clean electricity. The electrical current they produce has only 5% harmonic distortion. This means that all your sensitive appliances are protected, allowing you to relax.

Standby generators need to run periodic exercises where they operate for a few minutes to check that everything is working. With these Generac whole house generators, you can program the tests to run weekly, fortnightly or monthly according to your preference. Not only is this convenient, it ensures that they are ready and prepared for when they are actually needed.

Each model is UL, CUL and EPA approved and comes with a 5 year limited warranty from Generac.

These Generac standby generators come with some really nice features. However, it is important to keep in mind that without proper and regular maintenance, the probability of a fault occurring is high.  If properly maintained, you are unlikely to see problems with your generator. On the other hand, faults and issues have been known to arise and not every customer is happy. An additional consideration is installation. While they are sold as 'easy to install', this might only be the case if you have experience with these kind of tools. They are highly complex machines, and while an installation service will be an additional cost, it will ensure that it is done correctly. This is generally a sound investment.
